I think I may have misled you, or misunderstood what you are suggesting I try. Apologies.
When I boot from hard disk, the machine works perfectly in 1024x768 mode using that standard X.org and i810 driver in Hardy. So there doesn't seem to be a problem there. The 800x600 issue is when I boot from the Hardy Live CD. Since this is not reconfigurable, I am not sure there is anything I can do to change this, and anyway I invariably boot from disk and that works fine. The splash screen during booting is presumably not using X.org or its drivers so that must be a different problem. -- [Hardy] doesn't recognize native resolution on Vaio PCG-SRX51P/B (i815m) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/183746 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
