I ran Gutsy's xserver for about 3 weeks, stable... after that I
reinstalled hardy's xserver, and things stayed stable... with the
exception of the original suspend issue which persisted. After about a
week of stability I switched to ATI's fglrx driver via restricted driver
manager, it also ran stable, and I was able to suspend as well. That
stays as my current configuration. Maybe my instability was associated
to release candidate blues, that got resolved by updates? Regardless my
system is running good now, the original bug description still persists,
but I guess it doesn't affect to many people since no has posted. Maybe
it's something specific to the Compaq nc6230?
