Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I am using ubuntu 8.04 hardy and firefox (64 amd build). I do not get the log in screen for authentication when I open Mozilla, this appears to be the same with all hotspots that require some sort of web based click through agreement. Note there is no password or security required for these. My fix has been to start a virtualBox with windows Xp and internet explorer. The agreement appears in the browser and I click ok and I am good to go. Why would ----cough cough---I.E work under Ubuntu but firefox will not work. And no there are no popups or cookies. If I have time I will run a packet capture and try to fix.. I have seen this problem unresolved in the Ubuntu forums.......I really like Firefox too Thanks for all your attention if you have read this far :) Steven Cole ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue May 27 15:59:39 2008 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.04 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: firefox-3.0 3.0~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: firefox-3.0 Uname: Linux 2.6.24-16-generic x86_64 ** Affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- hotspot authentication spyder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235313 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
