for: meld ide-cd.c.new ide-cd.c it gave me 5 steps only using arrows (it shows five changes)
for meld ide-cd.c ide-cd.c.new it gave me 15 change!!!! Actually I was facing the same problem in Ubuntu 7.10 but I never faced it on fedora 6!!! I'll try to do more checks and I'll tell you.
