With the package from hardy-proposed, this works for me.

Could other people who experience this bug please do the following to
test the new package:

1. Add hardy-proposed to your /etc/apt/sources.list file, with the
following line:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-proposed universe

2. Install/upgrade dmraid.

Your jmicron RAID set should then be visible in /dev/mapper.

Please test and report to this bug as to whether the new package worked
for you.
