Public bug reported:

In Hardy (Ubuntu 8.04)
Linux hellspawn 2.6.24-17-generic #1 SMP Thu May 1 14:31:33 UTC 2008 i686
GNU/Linux

I have two batteries; one is a 12 cell, one is a 6 cell. They are both
Hewlett-packard mfgr ID'd.
Ubuntu was installed with the lower cap battery present.

gnome power tray applet always reports based on lower cap battery, even
when double cap battery is installed -- including after complete reboot,
even after a complete charge on the 12 cell. It never re-calculates
available battery life or battery charge time when switching batteries
-- possibly because they're both HP's? (maybe it checks to see if the
battery is different by mfgr?)

Not sure what information is needed to post here, so will post HAL dump
for now. Feel free to inquire for more. I will supply if able.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
