not sure this is related, but whenever I plug an external screen on my laptop. It messes up the brightness of my laptop screen, and sometimes, it takes a while for me to recover from it :/ . my laptop is an ASUS U5F-series. Also all my 'Fn' strokes arent recognized by the OS, so I have to reboot and do my changes while it's loading the bios.
