Public bug reported: I am using wodim 1.1.16 from hardy with a Pioneer DVR-A09 DVD writer (which I have updated to the latest firmware, v1.58). Due to (I think) a bug in the DVD writer's firmware, the drive reports that it can only do a maximum speed of 1x, when in fact it is able to write at 16x. Nero for Linux and windows-based burning utilities are able to burn at 16x but wodim will only burn at 4x.
The attached patch fixes this issue by reading the list of supported burning speeds which are provided and updating the max write speed information based on these if the drive reports that it is able to burn at a speed faster than its reported max speed. This allows me to burn DVDs at the correct speeds. I believe this issue may affect other similar-vintage Pioneer writers.
