Hi Thomas,

I don't think is related to e-mails at all. I believe is not the e-mail itself, 
but the pop-up window that tells that an e-mail has arrived. 
For instance, certain pop-ups (skype for instance) deleted (I don't know if 
this is still true) the content of the panel that stayed below (not on the 
desktop, i.e. the windows are always properly refreshed). And it took a little 
while till this was refreshed...

I think the problem occurs only if just after receiving the e-mail I
change desktop with the mouse (not with keys) without touching the gvim
window at all. If you do something on that window after receiving the
e-mail (click or something) and afterwards go check your e-mail, the
whole thing is stable.

Is there a way to make a pop-up appear? like a command or so? then I
could test if it is because of that. I'm sending myself e-mails to test
but I think that's not the best approach...
