I began using Ubuntu 7.04 approximately 9 months ago and upgraded to 7.10 properly. Prior to upgrade to 8.04 everything I will talk about was working properly.
My equipment is Toshiba Satelite, Model Name A85-S1072, Description Microsoft® Windows® XP Home, Intel® Celeron® M Processor 360J, 256MB, 40GB (5400 RPM), DVD-ROM/CD-RW, 15” TruBriteTM XGA, ATI MOBILITYTM RADEON® 9000, 802.11b/g, Wireless function no longer works. I use KWiFiManager to access and control my wireless function. I am unable to connect to my router. The system does recognize my network, but when trying to connect all I get is no access point and Local IP – unavailable. Update Manager notifies updates required but when install selected a Starting Administrative application indication shows up and then times out and the update manager hangs up without installing the identified updates. Synaptic Package Manager does not work - the same Starting Administrative application indication mentioned above occurs. While the Terminal application works for updating the system, I am not all that comfortable with my own knowledge with this application. This is what does function: Email – OK Internet – OK OpenOffice application – OK Some Video but not all – OK How should I proceed? -- update-grub fails during upgrade of the kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224740 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
