This suggestion in the forum worked : mv the file "/var/lib/dpkg/info/python-rpm-xxx.postinst" file to a backup place (replace xxx's with the actual version numbers) then apt-get install python-rpm again, if that works, then reinstall python-rpm one more time to make sure its properly setup
