That would either mean that the batteries are failing / underpowered (rechargables are 1.2 volts while regular alkalines are 1.5 etc), or there's a bug in your bluetooth adaptor / driver. I'll go ahead and mark it incomplete, and if anyone else is willing to duplicate the bug we'll work from there.
If the reduced range makes it hard to find a good place for the tablet you might try a USB cable. I don't have a graphire so I can't duplicate any of this.
