Same problem and symptoms here, with a Sitecom WL-011v2 card. This card is reported as working on ndiswrapper site, but I wasn't able to work around the soft lock neither using different windows drivers nor passing different options at the kernel (ie. irqpoll) as some documents found on net suggested.
