Public bug reported: Ubuntu's scim package put /usr/lib/libscim-gtkutils-1.0.so.* into binary package scim-gtk2-immodule, instead of libscim8c2a. Therefore libscim- dev should depends on scim-gtk2-imodule as libscim-dev ships the /usr/lib/libscim-gtkutils-1.0.so symlink.
Currently this problem makes many packages, which Build-Depends on libscim-dev, and uses libscim-gtkutils-1.0.so, FTBFS. From Lucas's test (https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu- devel/2006-October/021858.html), three main packages (scim-hangul, scim- chewing, and scim-tables) and two universe packages (scim-prime and scim-thai) FTBFS, and I suspect they are all due to this bug. The package scim-pinyin fixes the FTBFS by adding scim-gtk2-immodule as a build dependency. I believe that's the wrong way to fix, and obviously doesn't scale. ** Affects: scim (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Jonathan Riddell Status: Confirmed -- libscim-dev should depend on scim-gtk2-immodule https://launchpad.net/bugs/67057 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
