Thank you for reporting this issue! I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me...
1) What happens if you try and open a terminal window and type "sudo apt-get upgrade". If there is an error message could you post what it says? I guess that would be a good first step in trying to figure this out... 2) Although it might seem like a silly request could you verify that you have enough disk space... Another thing you can try is "sudo synaptic" and see if it provides you with an error message.
