The following works for me: 1) Create the above link: ln -s /usr/lib/kde4/lib/strigi/strigiindex_sopranobackend.so /usr/lib/strigi/strigiindex_sopranobackend.so 2) kill all nepomuk and strigi processes: pgrep nepomuk|xargs kill -9 pgrep strigi|xargs kill -9 3) remove the ~/.strigi folder 4) restart nepomukserver
