a real shame - i have just been through it all: Amarok (with and without MySQL), Rhythmbox, Audacious, Exaile, MPD (with Gimmix, Sonata etc.) and Banshee - and NONE of them, except Audacious, can handle my 35-40k collection (they just stall/freeze), and Audacious is not too happy and often stops or refuses to play tracks - NEVER had any such problems with XMMS,
