Me too. I am using Intrepid and update-manager is so slow that I've completely given up on it. Compared to apt-get from the command-line, I'd have to say that update-manager is 10x slower if not more. It took over an hour to download 14 "normal sized" packages. Although I can't get you exact details on what I was downloading and the speeds (right now), I can guarantee that it's awfully slow. This is also seen by my co-workers, and I should note that we are all behind an http proxy server (again, though, apt-get is fast).
If there are any tests I can run to compare the speeds, like downloading dummy packages, I'd be happy to oblige. -- Update download speed is incredibly slow for connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228415 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
