** Description changed: I downloaded the latest version 6 Ubuntu Dapper Drake last week. I installed on AMD K6-2 500Mhz 380Mb RAM. It installed fine to a clean empty drive. It rebooted fine I tried to enter username. The username box was not easy to click and kept in front of pointer. Eventually I got the cursor to the box and typed. Autorepeat on every entry appeared to cause the memory to fill up. This happened in both the username box and the password box. I re-installed from scratch twice more. Each time the error was the same. The same machine runs faultlessly with Mandriva installed. It runs well with SimplyMepis (Live CD) and CSL (Live CD). winlinuser. + + UPDATE + + I tried again using MEPIS. Had the same problem. After investigation I found the problem - the BIOS needs an update. + I have re-installed Mandriva. + + Sorry to trouble you. + + Winlinuser
