Dear Mr De Vuyst sorry for not responding , but due to a system hardware crash of my laptop ( toshiba Satellite L40 ) i lost your address. In the mean time everything became OK thue to the new kernels: for ubuntu 7.10 kernel 2.6.15 mouse OK kernel 2.6.17 mouse blocks for Suse 10.0 kernel 2.6.13 mouse OK kernel 2.6.17 mouse blocks for Suse 10.1 kernel 2.6.16 mouse blocks
