i can confirm this as well i had this problem in pidgin 2.4.1 and waited for a new version hoping that maybe it will be solved but that did not happen there is no way to put an avatar to your account, it does not work, either from the pidgin page or the Modify Account page. i tried jpg,gif big and small fromats.I even tried a 40x40 photo, thinking that maybe it can not resize it....nothing
