I think Tormod hit the nail on the head on that (but I don't know blkid internals too). The system solution would be to include dmraid on the live CD. It's very small package so it should fit there. If that's not possible, I propose following ugly hack: modify the dmraid initscript (or maybe .deb install script) to detect whether it is run on live CD and turn off the swap partitions used for raid if so (I think it should be possible to detect whether a swap partition is a part of raid or not before setting up the array). I'm not on my computer right now, I'll look into that when I'm home.
