Thank you, Steve, for the patch and for your other suggestions. I think that the patch is implementing the right fallback sequence. I will be able to test it when back at work. I will also surely remove the 'restrict anonymous = 2' option from samba configuration, although it is not causing problems after a kerberos authentication. In any case I don't have problems in allowing anonymous browsing.
