Interesting! Setting ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE=true really helps, but not after start. On my ACER Extensa 5210 it helps after I unplug and plug back the AC cord. So just after the start (if laptop started on AC) it is just as before, but if you unplug the AC cord - the power management is beeing set to 1 (which is acceotble for running on battery) if you plug back the AC cord, APM is switched off. I;m going to write a startup script which changes APM settings on startup...
