i just installed ubuntu yesterday. i am a newbie! please be patient. i dual-booted linux ubuntu 8.04 on my hp pavilion dv9320 laptop, vista home prem. amd64, 4gb.ram, 320gb. hdds. broadcom wireless, nvidia graphics. after many hours, wireless works, i thought i had it whipped, i installed many updates through update manager. did i "go a bridge to far"? but then it happened, i tried to boot-up and "the black screen of death"! i tried to restore, but same thing. i get the welcome sound, my keyboard works, but no hardy heron! BLACK SCREEN- error 22. i can use my cd to re-open but all my hard work has vanished! again, i am a newbie.
