Try to obtain a backtrace then
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and attach the file to the
bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

If you are successful, you should get the automated bug reporting tool,
which will post more information about your core dump, and will
automatically aloow you to ceate a new bug report. When you have created
the new bug report, please either mark this bug as a duplicate of the
new bug, or post the number here, and I'll mark it for you.

As an aside, I tried zapping with a webcam I have laying around, and it
didn't crash right at start-up. When I tried to change the settings,
though, it crashed. Have you tried it in Hardy yet?
