There are 2 workaround for that: 1 - use the shortcut to select the location bar instead of the mouse (eg ctrl+L on firefox, not sure about your own browser) and hit delete then middle click. only mouse select copy to primary so this works. 2- copy the URL to clipboard instead of primary, and use ctrl+v
