Prateek, I'm using Kubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" installed on a fresh hard drive (from the Alternate image, if it matters).
"Splash Screen" no longer appears in kcontrol/"System Settings" by default. You must install the packages "ksplash" and "ksplash-engine- moodin." However, you are right. The preview and the splash page are different. Once you install ksplash, when you choose "kubuntu" from the list, you see the description and preview for Edgy. Displayed in kcontrol (from its theme.rc): Name: Kubuntu 02 Description: Kubuntu Edgy Splash Version: 1 And the preview image (Preview.png) is a light blue background with a bright s-curve stripe. If you "Test" the splash screen or if you boot using it, you actually see darker blue diamond pattern background (Background.jpg), which I'm guessing is the one for Hardy. The Readme.txt from the kubuntu folder reads Name = Kubuntu Ultra Splash (moodin) Version = 1.5.1 Not an earthshattering problem by any means, but I thought I'd follow up and confirm the bug. Both splash screens are nice. Thanks for your time. ** Attachment added: "Preview.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15505550/Preview.png -- Problems with default KDE splash screen after upgrading from Feisty to Gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155668 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
