ATM,  apport uses lsb_release to find out the distribution it is running
on. Thus adding support for "Origin: Canonial" would be introducing a
special case into the code. Certainly possible, but I'd really like to
avoid it.

Also, if "the real thing" is not in Ubuntu proper, apport should *not*
file bugs against the Ubuntu package in Launchpad, but rather against
the upstream project.

Thus I see two solutions here:

 (1) Get the real Landscape client into Ubuntu proper.
 (2) Add support for filing bugs against an upstream project to Apport, and add 
an Apport hook to the landscape package to enable bug filing against upstream.

Which do you prefer?
