This is intended behavior, not a bug, the ltsp-client scripts would break a normal ubuntu install ... thats why the package description contains the following sentence:
Description: LTSP client environment The scripts needed to configure and boot an LTSP client. . DO NOT install this package on a regular machine, it is intended only for installation inside a LTSP client filesystem. The ltsp client packages are only intended to be used by the ltsp-buld- client script which builds a filesystem environment for the client which is separated from the server.
