I've also been hit by this bug.

Having recently installed xen on Centos 5.1, I've been a bit
disappointed with the problems I've had with getting it running on
Ubuntu (8.04 amd64 server, intel core 2).

I realise that Ubuntu has decided to favour KVM, but like the original
submitter, As one of my VMs I'm wanting to try is a Solaris DomU, I need
xen instead of KVM.

Debug output:

titus# virt-install --connect=xen:/// --debug
Would you like a fully virtualized guest (yes or no)? This will allow you to
run unmodified operating systems. no
What is the name of your virtual machine? mythtv
How much RAM should be allocated (in megabytes)? 512
What would you like to use as the disk (file path)? /dev/mapper/vg1-mythtv
Wed, 25 Jun 2008 20:31:35 DEBUG Path is block file: Assuming Block disk type.
Floating point exception

(I'd previously run lvcreate to create /dev/mapper/vg1-mythtv)
