I did get into a conversation with the developer at the above mentioned bug (15708).
I am happy to report that it is fixed in the latest version of the source code. If you would like to get this version before it makes it to the repositories, you will have to build your xorg from source. I can say it worked fine for me with my environment on my hardware. I can make no warranties or raise any hopes that you will have the same success. There are instructions in the bug ( http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15708 ) on how to build with git.
