The problem may well be related, especially since it's the same kind of ethernet card. In my case, Ubuntu always *finds* the Ethernet card, but yes, it also stops working with any traffic after a few seconds. Note: This worked fine in Ubuntu 7.10. The problems started after upgrade to 8.04. I thought about doing a clean reinstall of Ubuntu, but alarmingly the 8.04 live CD had the same problems; i think maybe the driver has uploaded some wrong firmware to the Ethernet card, and since the live CD wanted to use the same driver, it let the pernicious firmware be? Anyway, it works fine in Windows XP, and it also works fine in gNewSense 2, which I have since switched to. br Carsten -- http://www.modspil.dk -- Internet connection times out/not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/226026 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
