Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I am connected to the Internet as I am typing this, but Network Manager displays a warning icon, its tooltip says: "No network connection" and on left-clicking the icon, I get "No network devices have been found". The wired connection has been set to dhcp. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 with all security and recommended updates installed on Jun 27, 2008. If I open Network Tools, I can select the network device (eth0), but clicking Configure gives me this message:"The interface does not exist. Check that it is correctly typed and that it is correctly supported by your system." Hardware testing says my network card is "Hangzhou Silan Microelectronics Co., Ltd. Unknown device 2031 (rev 01)". Windows XP on a seperate partition says my card is realtek rtl8139d. I expect NM to show that the card has been detected. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Connected online but NM displays "No network connection" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243476 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
