Confirming on another Optiplex 745 under Hardy, latest kernel 2.6.24.19. Re Ben's comment #9, I have motherboard code 0KW628 (assuming this is the board's Product Name from dmidecode).
A colleague has an Optiplex 745 with code 0WK833 which doesn't have this problem, so doesn't look like it's restricted to Ben's two codes. Hope that's of use.
