Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer
I'm using Hardy with all available updates installed. I've ripped a video from a DVD using Thoggen, producing a Theora+Vorbis .ogv as output. When I play back the resulting file using Totem- gstreamer, the picture goes out of sync with sound slowly but surely: after ten minutes of continuous playback the sound precedes the corresponding events in picture by about half a second. None of Totem- xine, Mplayer or VLC seem to be affected, so the video file itself is apparently not at fault here. I've also not detected such behavior with videos in other formats. The mis-sync seems to correct itself if I pause the playback, then continue it again.
