Ok I tested it on my edgy (dist-upgraded just before the test) and I get the same result as with dapper. Green after the modprobes.
What can I do to help? Are there better programs than Ekiga for testing webcams? I guess there is, but I'm clueless about them. Maybe there are some commands I could run of which the results could help you understand where the problem lies...
