On a clean install of Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) from the official CD, on a uniprocessor system, I just got several crashes during the first update of the system (via the Update Manager):
For example, setting a new version of update-manager itself (quoted from the update details log): Setting up update-manager (1:0.87.27) ... *** glibc detected *** scrollkeeper-update: corrupted double-linked list In my opinion, this makes the Ubuntu installation risky to use for the "normal user", i.e. I don't know the side-effects of these crashes at update time, and I will have to reinstall Ubuntu from scratch when this bug is resolved. -- scrollkeeper-update failed with "corrupted double-linked list" during update-manager update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218049 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
