As far as I'm concerned, this has been fixed in Intrepid :) I followed that howto link in car-los's post above, then pinned hardy/added intrepid to my sources list.
Then upgraded to firefox 3.0 and Flash 10 beta using the "/t intrepid" option in apt-get, et Voila! I've had no crashes since (this was 8 days ago).
