Thanks. Yes, it is a permission problems. Usually, the
/etc/udev/rules.d/45-libgphoto2.rules takes care of setting right
permissions on the device (you can find a class="06" rule near the end
of that file). My line of thought was that this rule does not exactly
match, hence the need to see the exact parameters of the usb device.
Moreover, the class="06" rule is duplicated in the file, so I got
suspicious there might be a typo or similar.

However my lack of knowledge about PTP stops me here, I don't know how
the PTP code tries to access the device, nor how udev is proceeding when
there is no kernel driver claiming the device.
