tail -f /var/log/daemon.log is more verbose. I've attached the bit of it
that occurs when my Network Manager tries to connect to my wireless
network, actually does for a minute even though it doesn't realize it (I
can surf the web during this short minute), then kills itself.

Nevertheless, I STILL can't figure out what's wrong. It binds to a
proper IP address, but still it complains about some DHCP transaction
taking too long (>99s). W.T.F.
