Public bug reported: Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk
I was using displayconfig-gtk in "low-graphics mode" (bullet-proof-x) to try to repair my system, so it was running at 800x600. The proprietary nvidia driver was broken, and I attempted to fall back to the open source nv driver. The tool only offered 640x480 and 800x600 even after changing the driver from vesa to nv (bug 150467), so the test ran at 800x600 as well. During the test, I could only see the stipple pattern. The dialog asking for confirmation was off-screen, and I could only get to it by scrolling around a larger virtual screen. Perhaps, at least in test mode, the virtual screen size should always match the mode? ** Affects: displayconfig-gtk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk I was using displayconfig-gtk in "low-graphics mode" (bullet-proof-x) to try to repair my system, so it was running at 800x600.
