Comment to Robert Persson: Assuming that your FF installationuses a new profile, all you have to do is select
File -> Send Link You will see a popup window with yahoo as the mail user agent default choice (for reasons that escape me). You also have the option to choose another application. Click to choose /usr/bin/thunderbird if that is your choice. Also remember to check the box at the bottom of the popup to make this selection permanent. You should be set after that. I think this is not so much a yahoo bug as a perplexing default choice for the default mail user agent using mailto links from within FF. In that sense, it is a default option that has been compiled into FF either by the Mozilla folks, or the Debian folks, or the Ubuntu folks. In any case, I would have thought that if a web-based mail user agent were chosen by default, it would be gmail.
