Public bug reported:

Gnome's automatic encrypted file editing password thingy is getting in
the way of editing encrypted files with vim. When I type "vi
secrets.gpg", a passphrase dialog appears, requiring me to enter the
passphrase with which the file was encrypted. The new window makes it
impossible to give focus to another window or switch to another virtual
terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1). Killing or canceling out of the window makes vi
unable to edit the file. Most importantly, the dialog box appears even
when you use the --passphrase option, which makes it impossible to use
vi in a script. I did not install this software, so I have no way of
knowing which package to address the bug to, or which package to remove
in order to avoid this "feature".
