Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Thunderbird Version 2.0.0.14 (20080505) running on Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy).
Server: Outlook Exchange over IMAP

$ dpkg -S /usr/bin/thunderbird
thunderbird: /usr/bin/thunderbird

Issue: The detach feature seems does not work properly. It saves the
attachment to the directory where you point it to, but after it rewrites
the message back to the folder, the attachment that you just "detached"
is still there. I expect the message to be written back to the folder
minus the attachment.

This becomes a problem because I want to keep the contents of the email
without the attachment. To do this currently, I have to forward it to
myself and delete the attachments. The problem in doing that is I can no
longer search based on the original sender of the message.
