Today, I booted up firstly into my default system (Ubuntu 7.10), from cold, and later into Intrepid Kubuntu. The cursor problem is less severe today in that I get the redglass cursor across the whole of the desktop (open windows and bare desktop). I still get the black blocks displayed (especially over a white background window, including launchpad!) I get the impression that this may be a graphics driver problem (using the default G70 driver).
