Public bug reported:

X brakes if I run nvidia-xconfig

If I remove all entrys except driver init, X works

Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
    Driver "nvidia"
    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
EndSection

nVidia reference

No log files attached beacuse tty is also broken for me for normal mode.
Changes
must be done in recovery mode.

The RGB path is clearly a "showstopper" as I recalls the xorg.0 log
file.

If X brakes this message also occurs "The greater application appears to be
(and so on) ...... "

This can maybe also be because of earlier installs of nVidias driver,
downloaded and patched
for the 2.6.26 kernel... ????

Please clarify :)

** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-177 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
