Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vmware-server
Running VMWare-server, current Ubuntu Hardy with all patches up to this date, with a pre-made WinXP guest operating system VM, causes all sorts of keyboard-related problems when I swap between the guest operating system and the host. I.e. I use the host operating system and suddenly can't type capital letters, other keys accidentally shut windows, minimize windows, etc. while attempting to use any other applications. Selecting a different keyboard layout (say US Keyboard variant) , and then reverting (back to UK keyboard layout) makes the problem go away until the guest operating system is accessed again. During this all keys work as expected when the guest operating system has focus. I post it in case it is indicative of some problem in Gnome's keyboard handling or the vmware-server package, or in case someone is looking for a workaround. (i.e. select different keyboard layout, apply, select original keyboard layout, apply.) Non-critical, but annoying. -James ** Affects: vmware-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- VMWare server causes keyboard problems in ubuntu host https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248376 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
