Binary package hint: gnome-applets
The Workspace Applet should only display workspaces, not create, delete
and sort them, unless maybe there is an option to do so. When changing
the orientation of a panel that contains the applet from horizontal to
vertical, the user will want to display the workspaces vertically,
without sorting them vertically in "virtual space". For example, Compiz
would render them vertically in Expo and the Cube wouldn't work, where
the user would like to keep them horizontally and only display them
vertically.
