Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gcompris
When I run Gcompris, it does not start. If I run from a terminal session this is what I get: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gcompris ** (gcompris:6179): WARNING **: config_file /home/steve/.gcompris/gcompris.conf ** Message: gcompris_set_locale 'en_GB.UTF-8' Creating link /home/steve/.kde/socket-blanc. can't create mcop directory I've done some digging around and it seems that the problem is that I have installed some other packages that have installed some Kde libraries which gcompris detects and tries to use and then fails. Work Around: Before starting gcompris run mkdir /tmp/ksocket-$USERNAME and then it starts OK: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gcompris ** (gcompris:7177): WARNING **: config_file /home/steve/.gcompris/gcompris.conf ** Message: gcompris_set_locale 'en_GB.UTF-8' open /dev/sequencer: No such file or directory Opened audio at 44100 Hz 16 bit stereo, 2048 bytes audio buffer __main__:1: DeprecationWarning: Module gnome.canvas is deprecated; please import gnomecanvas instead EVENT ============================================================ ** Affects: gcompris (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- gcompris wont start. https://launchpad.net/bugs/68065 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
